New Jersey’s Borough of Madison needed to modernize its stormwater infrastructure data after more than a decade without updates. With critical information scattered across outdated GIS files, physical plan documents, and field notes, the Borough sought an expert solution to create accurate, actionable data for effective planning and public accessibility.

Borough of Madison New Jersey Primary Brand Mark

NOMADICS stepped in to steward the fragmented data and repair the Borough’s stormwater GIS system. Using existing files from 2013 as a foundation, our data engineers integrated updates from multiple sources, including field observations and supplemental data like elevation maps and site plans. The result was a comprehensive, modern GIS dataset and a borough-wide map designed for accessibility and alignment with current needs.

The updated stormwater infrastructure map went into effect in March 2025, reflecting the most current borough stormwater infrastructure shapefiles, NJDEP stormwater GIS shapefiles, and stormwater infrastructure map of the Borough of Madison.

This project equipped Madison with the tools to make informed decisions, improve infrastructure planning, and provide reliable information for its community.
